			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here&#8217;s a fantastic song by two greats: Aldir Blanc and João Bosco. It is, however, a difficult song for non-native speakers due to quite a few obscure cultural referents. In the lyrics below, I&#8217;ve used footnotes to try to explain some of the terms.</p>
<p>The goiabada of the title is essentially guava paste, a very common and yummy, rustic sweet in Brazil. It is customarily eaten as a dessert together with queijo fresco (often called queijo Minas), similar (but often much lighter) to the queso fresco popular in many Latin American lands.</p>

<p>4) pp.134-138 are practice exercises for the <em>pretérito perfeito (</em>preterit<em>)&#8211; </em><strong>if you are short on time, focus on these exercises</strong></p>
<p>5) take a look at the online &#8220;practice exercises&#8221; for <em>lição 6 </em>and do any that you feel comfortable with that focus on a) preterit and b) new vocabulary of clothing and accessories (appropriate topics for Black Friday, não é? )</p>
